This DIY red berry wreath makes a beautiful festive holiday statement in your home and it only takes a few minutes and a few dollars to put together!
This DIY red berry wreath idea is definitely one of my favourite holiday decorating crafts of all time. This wreath craft is so simple and so affordable and yet just so dang effective! I always really love red berry themed holiday decor for some reason and a few Christmases ago, I really wanted a set of red berry wreaths for my living room windows. If you’ve ever looked into buying berry wreaths, then you know you can easily spend $100 on just one wreath and that was definitely not something that I was up for back then.
This solution that I came up with turned out to be really affordable though, and I actually think I like these berry wreaths better than most store bought ones anyway!
Assembling the DIY Red Berry Wreath
I always really like the texture and the easy-peasyness of grapevine wreaths, so I started with two as my wreath bases.
Chris and Jack went out and picked these 18′ wreaths up for me at Michael’s for a little over $4 each one day when they were looking for something to do to keep busy.
And then….
I picked up some of these berry garlands from Target a couple of weeks ago when they were on sale. Regular price $9 , but I got them for about $5.
Here’s a similar berry garland for a pretty good price that you could use too!
The garlands I used were actually pretty enough that I thought I might be able to make some wreaths just by twisting them into a circle.
It was pretty, but not quite what I needed for the windows. 2 garlands wrapped together probably would have worked, but instead I did this:
I took one garland, and wrapped it around one wreath and that was it! 2 minutes and about $9!
It’s one of those things where the end result is greater than the just sum of the parts, isn’t it?
And now I have two! They look perfect in my windows and I’ve also used them in a few other places around the house on doors or leaned up against a wall on a dresser over the last few years. I’m so glad I took the two minutes to make them instead of spending the $100+++.
The Finished DIY Red Berry Wreath
I just love an instant gratification project like this! These wreaths are so cheerful and they add such a nice pop of holiday color to a room. You just put them up and BAM it’s Christmas! 🙂
