Add enjoyment to next Christmas with this after Christmas stock up list! Spend more time enjoying the holidays next year when you save money and time by stocking up on these items at this year’s after Christmas sales.
Every year I say that I’m going to have my entire Christmas to-do list complete by the first of December and every year I get just a little bit closer to actually accomplishing that. The idea is that I’d love to have a really quiet, relaxing Christmas season where I can just focus on baking cookies, doing crafts, and coming up with fun activities to do with the kids. I have yet to actually accomplish all of this, but I can see that I definitely will!… one day (with a little help of this after Christmas stock up list, of course)!! 🙂
To help, I had the idea that maybe I should start putting together a list of all of the things that would have made this year a little easier and see if I could take care of picking up a few things to help my mission along right after Christmas this year. I almost always pick up a few decor items on the 27th or the 28th for the next year, and maybe some wrapping paper, but I’ve always left it at that and thought that maybe I would just start my Christmas shopping a little earlier the next year. I decided that maybe it was time to up my game and really get focused with my after Christmas shopping this year so I made a list and I thought it might be nice to share it with you too, just in case you like the idea of trying to create a little more peace in your December next year too! 🙂
Here are some of the things I’ve included on our “After Christmas Stock Up” list:
The After Christmas Stock Up
Wrapping Supplies
Wrapping paper, bows, scotch tape, gift tags, etc. All of these things seem like minor details until you’re in the middle of a last-minute wrapping session and you realize that you’re out of one of these items! Having enough to last you the entire season on hand next year, before the season even begins, means that you’ll probably even get a jump-start on all your wrapping!
Christmas-Themed Baskets and Non-Perishable gift items
Having these items in the house allows you to create the most amazing DIY gift packs for hostess gifts or for all those people that you missed adding onto your list (it always happens!) and you can do it for next to nothing, making it fun for the gift-receiver and the gift-giver! If you have a decent assortment, you can chose items that really suit that person along with a bottle of wine or some chocolate that you can pick up at the grocery store next year.
Christmas Paper Napkins
I never think of putting paper napkins out until the very last moment as the food is being served and then I’m stuck with something from the Summertime or Easter. Grabbing a few packs now while they’re super cheap will make your buffet table look extra cute next year and will make you look like you thought of everything! And you did…. just a year earlier than everyone realizes!
Favorite Basic Stocking Stuffer Items
Every family has favorite items that they like to include in stockings every year. You know the kinds of things that your family will use and enjoy so you probably buy quite a few similar items each year. Why not get those now and save yourself all that time (and about half the cost) next year? We always like things like gloves, socks, pyjamas, and slippers so I know I’ll be so glad when next year rolls around and I’ve already got most of the stuff to put in Chris’ stocking! Of course, Santa takes care of the stockings for the kids! 🙂

Fun Festive Stuff!
The funnest item on the after Christmas stock up list. I almost always pick up a few new decor items every year after Christmas, and I love opening up my bins the next year because I almost always forget about all of the pretty stuff that I bought the year before. You don’t need to stick to just decor though when it comes to adding a little extra festiveness to next Christmas season! If you ran out of time to go shopping for that ugly Christmas sweater you were hoping to buy, pick it up now for next year for cheap! You can also grab an assortment of Christmassy scented soaps, lotions, and candles so that you can bring them out next year as soon as the mood strikes!
